How to play GRAVEX

GRAVEX is a hover racing game: your car has no wheels and floats above the track. The throttle is automatic, so you only steer, brake, boost and jump.

  1. Pick a mode and a track. Single race puts you on an 8-car grid for 2 laps. Street race is a one-lap sprint through traffic. In Police chase you escape the cops; in Play as police you catch the target.
  2. Steer and brake through the corners. Brake before tight turns instead of hitting the wall.
  3. Boost on the straights. Boost uses energy. Fly through the glowing orbs on the track to fill it up again.
  4. Jump over walls. The rocket thrusters lift you over obstacles. After a jump there is a short wait before the next one.

Tips

  • Watch the damage bar. Hits add damage, and a head-on crash into a barrier costs far more than a side scrape. Hard landings hurt too. Damage does not heal during the race; you repair the car in the garage.
  • Save energy for the exits. Boosting out of a corner pays off more than boosting into one.
  • In a chase, more stars means harder pursuit. Avoid spike strips and look for gaps in the roadblocks.
  • As the police, use your one trap carefully. Drop it where the target has to drive through it.

Controls in the browser

In the browser version you steer with A/D or the arrow keys, boost with W, the up arrow or Shift, brake with S or the down arrow and jump with Space. C changes the camera, Esc or P pauses. A gamepad also works, and on a touch screen you can use the on-screen buttons. Online races, purchases and Google sign-in are only in the phone app, where you can also steer by tilting the phone.

FAQ

What can I do in the browser version?

Races, the career and police chases against computer rivals, plus the garage. Online races, purchases and Google sign-in are only in the phone app. In the browser you steer with A/D or the arrow keys, boost with W or Shift, brake with S and jump with Space. Progress stays in that browser.

Can I win real money?

No. Coins and gems are virtual. You can buy them in the phone app, but they can never be sold, withdrawn or exchanged for real money.
